Ask a Dentist

Q: How often do I need to visit my dentist?

A flip calendar shows the first month of the year.

Generally, we recommend that our patients come to see us twice a year (about every six months). Regular cleanings and checkups will allow us to work together to make sure you aren’t developing any problem areas and keep you on track with your oral health routine.

There are some instances we will ask to see you more often. For example, if your teeth and gums show signs of decay and disease, we may want to keep an eye on you more often. More frequent visits in those circumstances allow us to monitor the area until the risk is gone.

The best way to avoid that is to follow proper preventative care. We recommend brushing and flossing twice a day and limiting sugary foods and drinks.

Give us a call if you have any questions and schedule a dentist appointment with us at our St. Vital Centre or Garden City Shopping Centre dental clinics in Winnipeg today.
