Q: When do your wisdom teeth come in?

A person holds an ice pack to the side of their face.

Your wisdom teeth, which are the molars located at the very back of your mouth, usually erupt when you are between the ages of 17 and 21. If they erupt at an angle, they may not come in fully or properly.

This can make them difficult to clean, resulting in discomfort and possibly even infection. It is important to have them assessed if they are causing any problems.

It is not always necessary to have your wisdom teeth removed, but if they are causing pain or an x-ray shows signs that they will cause problems down the road, they will need to be removed. Give us a call if you have any questions or schedule your next appointment at our St. Vital or Garden City dentist clinics in Winnipeg to have your teeth examined.
